Product Description

Cetyl stearol, chemical formula C18H37OH, is a white solid crystal, available in granular or waxy forms, and possesses a pleasant fragrance. It features a melting point of 48 ~ 50ºC and a boiling point of 344ºC.

Characteristics include being insoluble in water while being soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, and mineral oil. It is sulfonated with concentrated sulfuric acid and remains chemically stable against strong alkalis. Its primary functions include inhibiting greasy sensations, reducing the viscosity of wax raw materials, and stabilizing cosmetic emulsions.

Main Applications

This product serves as a versatile industrial emulsifier, ideal for the textile and cosmetics industries:

Industry Printing & Dyeing: Used as a levelling agent, diffusant, and stripping agent. It enhances color fastness, brilliance, and equality while improving detergency and reducing electrostatic effects.

Metal Processing: Acts as an abstergent to remove grease stains from metal surfaces and functions as an effective solubilizer or brightener.

Fiberglass Industry: Used as an emulgator to reduce breakage and eradicate flokkit during production.

General Emulsification: Excellent for vegetable oils, animal oils, stearic acid, and paraffin wax, creating very stable latex. Used in synthetic fiber preparations like terylene.

Agriculture: Serves as a seed soaking penetrant to boost pesticide power and improve seed germination rates.
